Hello Spring!

Goodness gracious where has the time gone? I can't quite believe it's already spring. Well, despite my MIA-ness o have been incredibly busy with all sorts of projects. I just haven't had the time to update on the blog. My most recent doings have led me into some awesome things. I have been learning a lot about essential oils and decided to create essential oil diffusing jewelry. So I have been enjoying creating bracelets and picking out some nifty semiprecious stones. I started an etsy shop for these bracelets and it has been a fun experience. It find it crazy how every season brings me a new interest in the crafting realm.  I've never been a huge bead person and suddenly I learn about diffusing essential oils and bam! Now all I want to do is create awesome bracelets and necklaces. Check out some of my recent doings below.

Til next time!

The little ballerina

I felt inspired to do something tonight. So I decided to make a little mermaid. A ballerina mermaid nonetheless. I'm gifting it to one my girlfriend's daughter who recently had a birthday. I hope she loves her as much as I do. My favorite part... She is a one of a kind.

Hello February!

I have been taking easy with my crafting the past few weeks. I have had a few orders for customers and it has been relatively quiet. I have been really good at staying away from the craft stores and have only been buying things when I actually need them for a project. Which speaking of, most recently I did some decorations for a friend's gender neutral baby shower. I had a lot of fun doing this little project and my friend and his fiancĂ© were thankful for my input for the gathering.

They welcomed a healthy baby girl this week!!!

A baby blanket I made for them...

 And a gnome....

Now for some more things I've done....
Made these sweet little Valentine cards for my nephew's classroom buddies.

The tutu tote for my little ballerina Susy.

And this little gem because I miss my Z being an itty bitty baby.

Yep, I have a problem.

A couple of weeks ago  my work space looked like a tornado had gone trough it. I then decided that it was finally time to clean up. Now, the actual task proved to be way more difficult than I anticipated. See, it turns out that it wasn't just my work space that needed some straightening up. In addition to my working table, my cubby that stores my current projects, as well as my crafting closet was in shambles. With much embarrassment, I said enough is enough and holy hell I have a problem. Hi, my name is Angela and I'm addicted to buying crafting supplies. After nearly an entire afternoon sorting notions, fabric, ribbon of all types, beads, glues, cutting tools, card stock in every color, yarn, wool, felt, works in progress...I vowed that I wouldn't make random purchases just because it's an "excellent deal" nor because "it will totally come in handy...eventually." How does it make sense that I can justify crafting supply purchases, yet purchasing clothes, shoes and even make up makes me cringe?
Strange! Anyway, I've been good these past few weeks. Now let's see if I can actually stand by my words.

Happy New Year!

It's been quiet around here. I have been on a little crafting hiatus due to the holidays. In general December was a little chaotic in our house. With that said, I am looking forward to what 2016 has in store for my family. I am hoping to continue my ever growing passion for my crafting, my desire to transition into a more holistic lifestyle, but most importantly, I am looking forward to emotional and mental balance.

I started 2016 with the most charming house pillow!

As well as a clean and comfy crafting corner.

Lastly, I'd like to add that what I am most thankful for these past few months. My mother's smile. Almost 7 months into her recovery from her Bell's palsy and highly complicated case of shingles. God is great.

Newly 30...Birthday weekend!

I have welcomed my 30th birthday. I thought something magical would occur when I woke up this morning, except it didn't. It really was just another Sunday, albeit the weather was exceptional for December. Everyone makes such a big deal about moving onto new birthday decades, and while I typically don't fuss about birthdays, I have been patiently awaiting this one.

Gone are my 20's, which I begun while as junior in College and in it's span gave me countless of memories. Many were happy, joyful, sad, frustrating, terrifying, hopeless...I guess it's only fair to have plenty of each. The one thing I have learned for sure is that I have grown emotionally.

I am looking forward to my 30's teaching me more valuable lessons. I am looking forward to becoming a better me. I think during the 20's era we get so caught up in trying to figure out who we are, yet instead we end up not really figuring it out at all. I actually began figuring myself out about a year ago. It's a work in progress you could say, and I have zero qualms over it.

So, cheers to another year of life. I hope to accomplish many more goals during this next tour around the sun.

For now I'll continue on my Eat, Pray, Love.

Holiday weekend recap.

My oh my this holiday weekend was just beyond busy. Thursday we had the family over and we ate dinner early. It was nice, the kitchen was cleaned up by 6pm and we just relaxed the rest of the evening. Now in the late hours, I had to work on Soph's wish for a Frozen themed birthday. I was up until 2 am! Unheard of by the way. I try my hardest to make it in bed before 11 on most nights. Friday morning was nuts. I had to go pick up her cake at one my favorite bakeries. Swedish bakery never fails! We then spent the rest of the day celebrating the birthday girl. She wanted to bake cupcakes so I complied and baked chocolate cupcakes. Again, we decided to do something low key and it turned out perfect. Soph thanked us throughout the entire day for everything that we had done for her. The most exciting part of her celebration was the gift scavenger hunt. She loved it! She had been begging  for a Nintendo DS for the past year and well we gave in. Saturday, was my day. I got to escape for a few hours to the craft stores to take advantage of all the coupon bonanza! I made out like a bandit with my purchases. In addition to this, I shopped from some of my favorite Etsy shops. I love supporting small business owners, especially ones run by moms. Now today, I did a lot of clean up in the girls room. It was just toy mayhem everywhere. It was yet another reminder that my children don't need anymore toys. I purge usually every other month and my goodness every single time I get rid of at least one garbage bag filled with toys...overall a very productive Holiday weekend.
